Skunk Reviews - Norm of the North
Shall I Continue?
So, the reviewing spirit isn’t dead, as I have journals to account for that. However, a lot of my motivation to compose such reviews has been steadily decreasing. Maybe it’s just burnout from the era where I emulated That Guy with the Glasses-style reviewers, most notably through Doug Walkeresque approaches and composing my reviews as though they were visual, rather than textual, constructs. These days, a lot of my interest in Internet reviewers, outside Mr. Enter, has pretty much diminished. That said, there is still a part of me that channels that (largely film) critic who encouraged me to take a film course in order to better hone my abilities. And I felt I should try to reengage it, outside of a journal entry.
And the subject of this return? Norm of the North.
This was one of those films I only heard about because of how reputedly bad it was, after its disastrous release around Kung Fu Panda 3. That, and because of its casting of R

Skunk Reviews - Alpha and Omega: Dino Digs
Another Return to the Wolves of Jasper
Yeah, I know. I can already hear the I-knew-it’s coming from the crowd fearing and accusing the series of becoming the next Land Before Time. For a moment, you almost have to wonder if this was a bit of self-awareness, until you recall it’s likely just the sort of plot they figure kids would go for. And because I suppose the one about the big freeze wasn’t timed right, or something. So, where does one go after a Social Darwinist group, a territory-wide competition, a haunting, and being hunted by trackers? Helping a dinosaur, it seems.
Alpha and Omega, for me, has been up and down in regards to its sequels. For all its faulty shoehorning of holiday elements and the underdevelopment of its antagonists, A Howl-iday Adventure had the good subplot Runt bonding with Princess during his time as the Rogues’ hostage. The Great Wolf Games, which demonstrated a lot of animation and plot issue

Skunk Reviews - Alpha and Omega 4
In Time Again for a Holiday
As I said before, I had mixed feelings about the sequels. Despite its faults, A Howl-iday Adventure was actually pretty decent, and contained a good dynamic between Runt and the anti-villain Princess. However, although I did like elements of The Great Wolf Games, such as the character development of Claudette, it was pretty weak in hindsight. So, I honestly had no idea what to expect of this. On the one hand, the premise of a haunting in the series snags the attention of my horror fan side. On the other hand, I thought they’d turn it into a miserable attempt at a Halloween special. And then, of course, there’s the franchise’s horrid tendency to completely waste plot opportunities. With these aspects in mind, I approached this with a cautious but hopeful demeanor.
Of course, it also didn’t help that I kept getting the incorrect release dates for the film. Said dates were all over October, before they suddenly start

Skunk Reviews - Alpha and Omega 3
The Games Wolves Play
I was anxious about the premise of sequels to Alpha and Omega given their direct-to-DVD status and noticeably shorter times, among other aspects. However, A Howl-iday Adventure, for all its own faults, proved to be a decent followup with a better plot and a decent set of characters, especially showing that the new child protagonists wouldn’t steal the entire show. That said...I was not sure what to think of The Great Wolf Games, the third film in the series. It seemed like a typical “underdog team of misfits wins the championship” narrative given the trailer’s focus on the bear cub and porcupine who’d be added to the sporting events. But then again, the trailer for Howl-iday did not acknowledge the Rogues (aside from a brief shot of King laughing), a good plot point in that film, so I felt that perhaps I was simply not seeing/getting the whole story.
But after reading other reviews, I felt a bit unea

Hello my friends, and welcome to my next installation of Duckyworth’s Thoughts! :w00t:

Wow… I really, REALLY got quite heated during my last review, didn’t I? I think I needed QUITE the rest to recover from Dominator The Movie – being the worst film I’ve ever seen in my life, hopefully it makes sense. But after such a bad, bad, BAD film – I think I know exactly what to review to try and combat the pain from reviewing my least favourite of all time – one of my favourite films of all time. :phew: And it contains one of my favourite mother characters of all time – one that could easily join the ranks of Mrs Brisby from The Secret of NIMH – the titular character in the film I will be reviewing today – Leafie: A Hen Into The Wild. :aww:

While I question my sister’s tastes for showing me Dominator

Judging by the title, you can probably hazard a guess as to which Disney film I just came back from seeing at the cinema. :meow: And it is the film which I just posted a picture that I was really excited to see a few days ago – yep, it’s time for me to share my thoughts on the latest Disney film – Zootopia – or Zootropolis, as it’s known in the UK. :iconbritishplz:
Sooooooooooooooooo…… first matter to call. The rating I gave this film – 4/5. Considering how I gave Big Hero 6 four and a half stars out of five, you may probably want me to explain myself. When I was hearing all about this film, there were a LOT of positive things coming out about the film. Everyone was saying it’s funny, it’s poignant, it’s heartwarming, it’s creative, it’s intriguing, it’s thought provoking, all the great things you co

Duckyworth's Thoughts: Bambi 2 ~ 2006
Hello, my friends…. Here is my next Disney Sequel review for y’all. :meow:
Well, considering the fact that the last film I reviewed was so terrible, it had the villain saying stuff like – ‘ :iconicouldkissmeplz::iconsaysplz:I could… KISS me…. But I’d fall in love! ‘, I think I need some kind of much BETTER Disney sequel to help me to recover from that…. Atrocity… ^^; And I believe that I may have found just the Disney sequel to help me recover. So, this time, I will be reviewing one of the more obscure of the Disney sequels, that I only became aware of the existence of very recently – Bambi 2. :meow:

YES – I typed that correctly – in the same year that the horrid TRAVESTY that was The Wild :fear: came out, Disney made a sequel to the 1942 classic Bambi…. And let me say right now, while 2006 may have been a bit of a dark year for animation in my book (The Wild, The Reef, the mediocre Pixar film Ca

Part 1 -

Welcome back to my Duckyworth’s Thoughts review on the unbelievably mean-spirited piece of rotten peanut brittle… The Nut Job…. Where I will be doing a good JOB trying not to lose my sanity while watching it… :x
So, let’s see how Davey Stone’s squirrel counterpart is doing. As he overlooks the heist, he sees Mole begin his plan to sabotage the plan to steal food.  Okay, Racoon, a question for you - if you want to supposedly keep control by keeping more food than anyone else, why don’t you just allow them to carry out the heist and THEN steal the nuts from them? Wouldn’t that be easier, give you even MORE power, avoid suspicion and make more sense?! But whatever, apparently he knows better than me, and is ready to move on to the most logical next step - by getting Mole to plant a hose pip

*Callum is on the phone right now*
Me: Yes, I will admit that you did kind of help me get through The Nuttiest Nutcracker last January, but I… don’t think you should be suggesting which film I review next… That film managed to make me lose a good part of my appetite for nuts, and I… don’t want this film to put me off pistachios or peanut butter! :ohnoes:
:iconmonobearthreatenplz::iconsaysplz: Do it, stupid! You wouldn’t hug me in that photo you made when you first bought me, and then you forced me to sit through a film about ugly nuts and you bored me with a stupid speech about hope, so you owe me! You say you like nuts less and less – well, keep up your whining and I’ll be happy be destroy yours!
Me: Oh yeah, because THAT joke isn’t overdone or anything…. :hmm:

Duckyworth's Thoughts: Disney's The Wild ~ 2006
..................... :icondoublefacepalmplz:
As you can tell....... I don't care much for this film..... :( Even thinking of this film's NAME makes me cringe.... :cries: The fact that it's a Disney film that I HATE is bad enough, because I've given so much praise to many forgotten Disney films, and the prospect of there being a Disney film that I consider to be my LEAST FAVOURITE FILM OF ALL TIME is pretty upsetting.
I've mentioned how much I hate this film in many of my previous reviews, and even when I was younger, at the age of 12, and saw an advert for this film, I ALREADY knew this was BAD. When I saw the trailer consist mostly of nut gags, obnoxious humour, and an annoying squirrel going 'OO-YAH-YAH!' even at THAT age I knew that this would take away most of my brain if I watched it....
I thank my younger self for not watching it back then, because I know that it would have impaired my mental strength majorly.. :( I'm not sure it didn't seeing it 6 years later.... I watched it a
